Dear Ms. Fuller,

I am writing this personal statement to you with hopes of being accepted into the most prestigious law school in the state, the Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Graduating from Louisiana State University with a 3.5 G.P.A. in Business/Pre-Law, I am now ready to further my education by attending your law school.

To prepare myself for law school and my future career I have obtained summer jobs with law firms and have worked as an intern at the state capitol.  My position at the law firm of Triche and Associates required me to read and summarize depositions, a task which will prove to be useful as I go through law school.  My summer there provided me with a real sense of what being a lawyer entails.  Aside from my position at the law firm, I spent a summer as an intern at the state capitol, an unforgettable experience that allowed me to enhance my knowledge of the Louisiana legal system.

Other than the legal background attained from my former jobs, I feel that my leadership abilities distinguish me from other applicants.  Since my first year at LSU, I have fulfilled my desire to be a motivating force not only in my classes, but also in my sorority and the many school organizations that I am involved in.  Above all, holding two offices in Kappa Kappa Gamma has instilled in me the skills needed to be a dominant leader.

I understand the difficulty and seriousness of law school and feel as though I am ready to commit to its demanding schedule.  Due to my extreme pride in our state and this city, I could not see myself attending any other law school but the Paul M. Hebert Law Center.   I look forward to meeting you. If you have any questions feel free to call me at  (225) 769-3579.

With deepest regards,

Eddie Murphy
